The retail box contains a download code, not a disc. Rockstar did this so stores can hand you the box from Nov 12 and the code preloads immediately — you lose nothing on launch night. But if you buy physical for disc collecting, resale, or offline installs, this box isn't that.

When does GTA 6 come out?
November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Digital preload starts November 12, and physical boxes ship or become available for pickup from November 12. A PC version has not been announced for launch.
What's the difference between GTA 6 Standard and Ultimate Edition?
Standard is $79.99 and Ultimate is $99.99. Ultimate adds five exclusive vehicles, four weapon variants, cosmetic packs, five member-only shops, a dedicated garage, and the exclusive “Classic Car Collection” side mission. Story, map, and release date are identical, and you can buy the Ultimate upgrade separately at any point later.
What is the Vintage Vice City Pack and how do I get it?
It's the pre-order bonus: '80s-themed outfits for Jason and Lucia plus the 1955 Vapid Stanier. It comes with BOTH editions as long as you buy before November 20, 2026 — so it's a buy-early bonus, not an Ultimate exclusive.
Does the physical edition of GTA 6 have a disc?
No. The retail box contains a download code instead of a disc. The upside: retailers can hand it to you from November 12 and the code supports preload, so you're playing at launch just like digital buyers. If you collect discs or rely on offline installs, know this before you order.
Should I buy the Ultimate Edition of GTA 6?
If the $20 difference doesn't sting and you know you'll play a lot, the exclusive shops and mission are the meaningful part of the bundle.
